Tone Profile
Aggressive, distorted, and resonant, this synth lead cuts through the mix with a gritty edge and a touch of vintage warmth. It's the sound of a machine struggling to maintain control.

The Story
Daft Punk created the iconic distorted synth sound of 'Da Funk' using a Roland Juno-106 analog synthesizer run through an Ibanez SD9 Sonic Distortion pedal for grit and overdrive. A Mutronics Mutator was used to add filter sweeps and additional character to the sound. The aggressive tone comes from pushing the distortion pedal hard while using sawtooth waves from the Juno-106.
