The Story

The piano sound on Journey's "Faithfully" was created using a Yamaha CP-70 electric grand piano, processed through a Roland Dimension D chorus unit and Lexicon 224 reverb. The track was recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California with producer/engineer Mike Stone. The Dimension D's subtle chorus effect widens the stereo image while the Lexicon 224 provides the characteristic spacious reverb that makes the piano sit so well in the mix.
